Superb French Bronze and Sienna Marble Cased Mantel Clock, of outstanding high quality and workmanship. First quarter of the Nineteenth Century, the square shaped top case enclosing an eight day movement. The well cast ormolu glazed annular dial with black Roman Numerals and breget style moon hands. The movement of eight day duration, regulated by a silk suspended pendulum and striking the hours and halves upon a fine bell, flanked to the right hand side by a seated figure of a classical maiden, all supported on a stepped rectangular well veined marble plinth base applied with bronze reeded and scrolling lined decoration above a leaf-and-tongue bronze band cast in crisp relief, raised on four lavish cast scrolling foliate bronze supports.
